all things kate

sorry fellow blog readers about my MIA-ness lately. although i have a freakin large amount of free time these days and am in thinking overload, i still find it hard to have stuff that's worth blogging about...either because it's incoherent ramblings or because it would just be b-o-r-i-n-g.

speaking of boring...that summarizes most of my days lately. this next week will start week five of unemployment. can you believe it? it doesn't seem possible to me, yet it's true. and im no closer to having a job than i did at the beginning of week 2. it's cool though..gotta remember to enjoy this jobless time while i have it - i know i will miss it later.

that's your official update. and now for a mix of random stuff that has occupied my time.

saw the movie, the departed. had no idea what it was about going into it which i almost prefer since previews give away so much these days. it was pretty good, kinda long, lots of shooting people which isn't my favorite genre of movie, and a great cast.

trying to figure out everything that entails web hosting, buying a domain name, and making a website. if you or anyone you know is well versed in this, PLEASE refer me to them b/c i am at an overwhelmed loss. on a side note, i now have a sales tax ID number. jealous? well, if im going to be selling services (photography) i must charge sales tax bc it's the law and well, you gotta have a sales tax ID number. so that's neat and kinda real official and weird for me to have.

the weather is slowly getting cooler, minus a couple 90 degree days still here and there, and that is the greatest thing. nice weather makes me happy and im getting to go back to an outdoor love of mine - town lake. trying to get back into the running thing...kinda rough.

im involved in new tv shows this season. the ones im liking are: six degrees, standoff, friday nite lights, studio 60, ugly betty, and the nine. old shows with new seasons that have started that im still enjoying: grey's, what about brian, project runway, and one tree hill. ok, no i don't sit at home every nite and watch all of these, i promise. there is a lot of downloading/vcr recording (yes im old school and do not have dvr/tivo) and watching in spare time that goes on.

aggie football is well under way and the road thus far has been pretty great minus a sad, sad loss to tech. the game yesterday against mizzou was FABULOUS. go ags...please keep it up.

and because im pretty candid on this thing and this is "all things kate," i will leave you with one last kate thought. i'm warming up to the idea of being married. not that i was ever against it, but it just wasn't really something i thought of, or was ready for. and it might have to do with being unemployed and bored/kinda lonely most of the day and seeking that companionship. or it could just be that im maturing and actually think that i could be responsible for someone else. which really says a lot bc my fear of commitment is pretty significant. so how's that for being honest? but that's really all i have to say about that.

i think that's enough for now. i'll try to be better about blogging - just not a lot of exciting stuff goin on right now. but i feel that will all change soon...i hope...
