oops

man, i forgot i had this thing. and i don't have an excuse that i've been super busy at work (since i haven't had a job), or haven't had time (because i have...). so, my sincere apologies to my thousands of active readers....and by thousands i mean 6.

so i might as well get to the important news. i have a job! it's actually a short term (6 months) contract type job with a company that's working on the ginormous samsung project in austin. i got the job thru my roomie and despite not seeing a future in the air duct/sheet metal business, i am excited about it. mainly because i just need a source of income at this point! can we believe that ive been jobless for over 6 weeks? i think i forgot what a job was...or what you do at one at least. and as ancy as i have been to have a job again, i know that i will miss my days of sleeping in and doing basically whatever i wanted to all day. i think i will miss that a lot. but back to the job..my official title is project office manager. however in reality im basically the girl that chases all 50 or so of the male workers and nags them to turn in their paperwork and timesheets each week, does their scheduling, collects daily progress reports etc. ive met with some of the guys ill be working with and they all seem really nice and i think it'll be a good job. and it will be a nice source of moolah while i loosely continue my job search. i start wednesday. ill let you know how it goes.

what else. thursday i saw pete yorn at la zona rosa. a good show. not as good as the one at the parish a couple of months ago. but then again...it was only a couple of months ago. last nite i saw robert randolph and the family band at stubbs. i was front row -something ive always wanted to do but never had the energy to make my way up to the front. well, it wasnt super crowded for the opener so i didnt have to make a huge effort to get up there and then i just stayed till robert came out. oh and about the opener - a guy named ryan shaw and he has an amazing voice - check him out. the main show was fantastic and front row positioning definitely adds to the experience. i guess when you can actually make eye contact with the band it seems a bit more personal or something. one downfall though...my ears are literally still ringing bc i was right next to a speaker that was bigger than me. im praying that its only temporary and my hearing will be completely restored very soon. but all to say...great show...so much energy...two thumbs way up.

oh, so the aggies won on sat. against baylor -as expected. we're doing so well this year! a few tough games left but i believe in the ags!!

nba starts this week. i know no one else cares but whatever, I DO! this is going to be the sixers' year....yeah...

time for bed. more rambling later...
